A while back while I was trying to decide which direction to head with school, I met with a career counsellor up at the college in an attempt to get an outside opinion on what I should do. The white haired guy I met with asked me if I were an animal, what would I be?

My answer?

A seagull.

Yeah. Dumb answer. Seagulls are annoying. They eat garbage. And while I may be annoying, I certainly don't eat garbage!

Anyway. Although talking about our would-be lives (he would be a camel) was fun, albeit slightly awkward, it didn't help me decide on a career. But taking the Myers-Briggs personality test sure did. And you know what else? It made me feel special. Like, hey, yeah, I am that way! And I'm cool for it! Turns out I am a bonafide ISFP.

IFSP's are:
"...peaceful, easygoing people who adopt a "live and let live" approach to life. They enjoy taking things at their own pace and tend to live in the moment. Although quiet, they are pleasant, considerate, and caring, devoted to the people in their lives. Though not inclined to debate or necessarily even air their views, their values are important to them."

FAMOUS ISFP's:
Liberace
Michael Jackson
Steven Spielberg
Ulysses S. Grant
Marie Antionette

Cool, yeah? So! If you haven't taken the Myers-Briggs test....I think you should. I'm trying to convince Kristofor to take it so I can find out what he is!

This is starting to sound like an advertisement, and for that I'm sorry. But really. Do it. It's fun.

THIS IS NOT LI. It's Ben of course!

So..... what are you going to do then?

The way I figured out what I wanted to do was I looked at my goals for my life. Where did I want to be when my kids were in high school, etc. Basically I knew I didn't want to sit at a desk, I wanted to help people and I wanted to be able to make a good living. That sounds fairly generic but it narrows it down quite a bit. Basically I could go into health care. Nurse? Nope. MD. I hate taking pills. Physical Therapist? Don't make a very good living. Chiropractor... hmm interesting. I got a part time job helping a chiro and have never looked back. Anyways... what are you going to do>??????

P.S. If I were an animal I would be a humpback whale. Damn straight.

I'm trying to get into the Radiology program at Weber. When I'm done I'll be an X-Ray Tech, but then I want to specialize and do ultrasounds on pregnant ladies.
It's hard being a girl (IMO) because I want to go to college & have a career, but I also want to have a family. It would suck to go to school, then have a family and never go back to work again.
Anyway, I also want to help people and not sit on my butt all day, I'd like to get a job that has a flexible schedule (of course this also depends on your employer), and I want to work for someone - in other words, no owning my own business. I want something in the health field that lets me be involved with people but I'm not constantly around them (like a nurse). Also, I'm way more comfy being a follower than a leader.
I like Radiology because I think it's really fascinating that we're able to use it as a tool to figure out what's wrong with someone's body without being too invasive.

There are other things I think would be cool to do, but make more sense to do as a hobby - like cake decorating and artsy stuff. ;)
